(c. 1340 – after 1412) He preached in Valencia during the plague in 1374-75, before causing an scandal at the university in Paris by saying that the belief in the Inmaculate Conception of Mary was heretic.
Some of his sermons were preserved at the Dominican convent in Valencia, but are no longer there. He translated Bernard’s sermons on the Song of Songs into Catalan, although only the Introduction is extant[note]ACA, Cartes de Joan I, 1061[/note]. A sermon written in the vernacular might be Juan de Monzón’s work[note]Arxiu de la Catedral de Barcelona, còdex 182-5-5, f. 10r.-10v[/note].
