Carmelite friar, he was a lector in the Carmelite convent in Barcelona. In 1333, during a period of shortage and famine, he delivered two sermons (at the Church of Saint Michael and the Cathedral) blaming the leaders of the city and the upper classes of hoarding grain and therefore causing the price increase and the famine.
